My Story

Born on the island. Made for the road.

From my experience living and travelling across every corner of this island, I know the hidden Sri Lanka — the places you won't find in guidebooks, the family-run kitchens that serve the best kottu, and the quiet temple hours before the crowds arrive.

In 2007 I earned my National Tour Guide Licence from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. Safety comes first on every trip: a fully insured, air-conditioned vehicle I maintain myself, routes planned around road conditions and weather, and the peace of mind that comes from travelling with a licensed professional.

When guests come back to Sri Lanka — and many do — they ask for me by name. That's the part I'm proudest of.

Why a licensed guide matters

The difference is in the details.

National Tour Guides are vetted, trained, and certified by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. Here's what that means for your trip.

Verified & insured

Government-issued licence, full liability cover and a vehicle that meets SLTDA safety standards.

Deep local knowledge

Two years of formal training in Sri Lankan history, religion, biology and culture — plus a lifetime living here.

Access beyond the brochure

Family-run kottu shops, off-hours temple visits, the right ranger at Yala — connections you can't Google.

Sustainable by default

Small group sizes, local-owned guesthouses, no captive elephants — tourism that gives back to the island.

I take your photos

Eighteen years of knowing exactly where the morning light hits the rock fortress. You'll go home with great pictures.

24/7 island support

Forgot your charger in Galle? Need a doctor in Kandy? One WhatsApp message and I'll sort it.

"Rohan turned a two-week holiday into the trip we still talk about three years later. He read our group perfectly — quiet temple mornings for my mum, surf in Weligama for the kids, the best crab curry of my life in Jaffna. Book him before someone else does."
